UNI Panthers

UNI Panther games became part of the girls’ routine this winter!  My dad enjoyed calling the day of asking the girls if they wanted to join him since they had season tickets to the women’s games.  He also liked taking them to a few CF games.  This was always a win-win situation because Kenna LOVED going to the games and mommy enjoyed a couple hours to herself to get some things done, especially at the end of my pregnancy!

At the games my dad would buy a large pop and popcorn and then split it with the girls.  We didn’t know this little act went on until we attended a game with them!  “Poppy corn” and pop became half of the reason Kenna wanted to go.  The second we walked into the arena she was already asking for some!

The dancers at the women’s games were so sweet and would let Ella, Kenna, and Lily join them during the Interlude.  This I’m sure was the highlight for Ella as she was right in her element!  McKenna was the shy one not knowing if she wanted to be in with the dancers or if she wanted to watch instead.  At times Lily would play the shy innocent one and at other times she was right in the mix!

These pictures were taken on my dad’s phone.  He loved sending us pictures and videos of them at the game!

This was the Saturday before Kamryn was born.  I was having a lot of contractions and wasn’t sure how long I would be able to stay at the game!

Kenna is no longer afraid of TC or TK!!

These two Panther fans got to join their daddies for a date night at the UNI/Creighton game!

Kamryn’s first UNI game was the last home season game for the men!  Kenna wore this outfit to her first men’s game also.  The pictures taken at the game look almost identical to the ones we have of McKenna!

She was awake for about 10 minutes at the beginning of the game and then was out!  We met Grandpa at halftime and he got Kenna her popcorn!

We made a last minute decision to go to one of the CIT tournament games for the men.  We figured we better go since this will be the last basketball game for a long time!

Kenna got to sit by Grandpa and Grandma Lindgren for the first half.  They have season tickets and don’t miss a game!  She had Grandpa Tim talked into popcorn and pop before halftime!

My dad had taken the three big girls down behind the student section so that they could talk to TC and TK.  This mom (of course) wanted to get a picture of Kamryn with TK so I quickly carried her down there, plopped her on Grandpa Dan’s lap and attempted to get a picture.  This is the reality of trying to take pictures with kids and the more we add the harder it gets!!  Looking at these photos makes me laugh- Kenna is pouting, Lily is trying to run away (she’s still scared) and is holding her bow, Ella has Kenna’s coat on because she was cold, and I can hear my dad saying, “Hurry up and take it!”  TK on the other hand was very cooperative!

I keep reminding Matt that we need to take advantage of living in a college town.  I don’t want to look back someday and wish we would have done more.  We have three lucky little girls who have been to numerous athletic events at UNI.  I have many kids in my class who have never been!

Until next season….
