We began the day driving home from Jay and Dana’s wedding! Ella rode home with us while Matt and Danielle went to the present opening. Matt kept her busy in the back of the van looking at ESPN magazines! We were once again very thankful that the girls traveled so well.
After McKenna’s nap we headed to Matt’s aunt’s house for supper. We had a fun time hanging out with the Lindgren clan. Matt’s Uncle Chip and Aunt Jill were visiting from Salt Lake City. This was the first time they had met McKenna!
A couple nights before we met everyone at Mulligan’s for pizza!
On the way home we got a call from Danielle telling us to stop over at the Habincks so we could get a picture of the kids in their shirts. We quickly changed McKenna, grabbed the camera, and headed next door!
Shannon has a ton of cute 4th of July stuff that she’s collected over the years. McKenna wouldn’t leave the star headband on long enough for mommy to get a picture! Urgh!
Shannon picked up some fun sparklers and glow in the dark necklaces for everyone. McKenna got to do a sparkler with help from mommy!
Our plan was to get McKenna to bed early since she’d been up late the night before at the reception. This quickly changed after everyone wanted McKenna to come to watch the fireworks! We weren’t sure what to do since they didn’t start until 10:00. Two nights in a row up late is a recipe for disaster in my eyes! : ) With one more little twist of my arm we decided we would go!
We walked up to Birdsall Park and found a spot up at the top of the ball diamonds. Birdsall was a popular place! We were very anxious to see how she would like watching them. I wasn’t sure she was going to like it. McKenna surprised us though! She really liked watching them with “the kids”. I think it helped that we were pretty far from where they were being left off so it wasn’t as loud as I had expected. It wasn’t until the very end that she curled up on the blanket with blankey and paci, showing us she was ready for bed!
A fun day spent with many of our favorite people!
