Happy 4th of July!

What a rainy day it was! We spent most of the day laying around, with a little picking up! Tonight we started at the Mudd's annual Fourth of July party. The rain was coming down pretty good at the beginning but thankfully tapered off. They rented a huge blow up slide for the kids. You should have seen how muddy the kids were! They didn't let the rain ruin their fun! Everyone (especially the Lincoln School families) enjoyed seeing McKenna. Of course they loved her hair! :)

After the Mudds we stopped by the Nelsons quick. The boys were in the living room while the girls chatted in their entryway! McKenna was getting pretty antsy as she was tired and ready for bed. She took a later afternoon nap which meant she didn't get her suppertime nap in before we left home. She hung in there with the help of some good ol' Puffs!

Lastly we went to the Habincks (our neighbors/McKenna's daycare). Danielle had been texting us telling us to hurry over so we could get a photo op with the girls before they left! McKenna had some good smiles but not while looking at the camera. :/

We tried to take a few pictures before we left for the night of McKenna in Ella's old dress and bib from Gma Tappy. As you all know, trying to get a good picture of an 8 month old is hard work! McKenna wouldn't smile, sit still, or even look at the camera! We gave up after only taking a few!

"I am not in the mood for pictures mom!"

"Maybe if I crawl away mommy will stop!"

"How do you like this?!"

"Look at me now! I'm a big girl!"

"Okay, just one smile!"

Shannon has a picture of each one of her kids in this hat on their first Fourth of July. It was only fitting that McKenna get her picture taken in it!

Smiling at the kids

"What in the world is on my head?!"

Our two favorite girls!

Our favorite Auntie!

Audry and McKenna
(Notice the empty container that was once filled with Puffs! Ella and Audry helped McKenna finish it off!)

The fireworks were postponed due to the rain. They are scheduled for tomorrow night. It didn't feel like the 4th without them! I am actually looking forward to strolling McKenna up to Birdsall Park tomorrow night to watch the show!

Happy Birthday USA!
