Petersen Wedding

My cousin Andy and his fiancee Julie got married in Madison on July 24th. It was a beautiful outdoor wedding in a park right by the lake. We enjoyed seeing my mom's side of the family! It's not that often that we are all together at the same time!

The girls had a blast at the wedding. Ella was an absolute dancing machine, seriously! McKenna did really well considering she was running on no naps! I got her to sleep in the van after feeding her around 8:30, put her in the stroller, and came back to the dance but it wasn't long before she was up again! The poor girl was trying to roll over onto her belly to get comfortable but she was strapped in and couldn't move! We left the reception around 10:30- McKenna now wide awake! She didn't go to sleep until after 11:00 and then was up in the middle of the numerous times. Matt and Danielle were in our room and we felt so bad that she kept waking us all up! We were reminded how important routines and schedules are! :)

Sunday morning Matt, McKenna, and I headed from Madison to Lake Okoboji for vacation with Matt's side. We left around 10:30 and pulled into our resort at 5:00 on the dot! McKenna was once again a trooper during our travels across three states. She took her morning and afternoon naps in the car, and she even watched a movie!

We will be heading back up to Madison in September for my cousin Erik's wedding (Andy's older brother)! It's hard to believe all the older cousins are now married! Wasn't it just yesterday we were jumping hay bales, chasing animals, climbing the silo, icing cookies, and spending the night together on the living room floor at grandpa and grandma's?! :)

I told Ella to ask her dad if she could have some Mt. Dew. Of course he said no! She was then bummed (oops!) so I told her I would go get her a special drink. I came back with two Shirley Temples! We pretended they were Mt. Dew!
