17 Months Old!

It's hard to believe we have a 17 month old already!  McKenna is as busy as ever!

I wish I could say this month's pictures were easier than last months... Let's just say after 45 minutes of trying, I finally got a couple I was satisfied with!
This month two new teeth popped through!  On March 10th her bottom right molar starting poking through and five days later her bottom left molar popped through!  She was chewing on anything and everything around- DVD cases, toys, and her blanket.  So much for working on just having paci at nap or bedtime...:) I wanted her to chew on it rather than everything else around!  (I even told daycare to allow her to have it during the day!!)

Strawberries have become McKenna's favorite fruit.  She no longer will eat a banana, even when I put peanut butter on it (she just licks it off and doesn't eat the banana!).  Her request for strawberries is so cute.  I wish I could try to type how she says it!

McKenna prefers chocolate milk and juice over water and regular milk now.  If the fridge door is open she sneak out the juice or chocolate milk as I'm pouring her a glass of her white milk.  Kenna is a very unhappy camper when she realizes what is in her cup is not what she wants!  Chocolate milk and juice are considered "treats" around here.  I've now decided to let them be her special drinks when she's at grandpa and grandma's or auntie's but not at home!

McKenna will play for long periods of time by herself.  She loves looking at books, playing with her doll house and barn, stacking her cups, and cooking in the kitchen.  I love sitting back and watching her play with herself!

My parents got her Curious George Memory for Christmas- mainly because it was Curious George, her favorite!  McKenna would see it up on her closet shelf and would want to hold it. One day I decided to get it down for her.  I thought maybe she would enjoy looking at the pictures.  To my surprise, she has absolutely LOVED playing with it!  After dumping them all out of the box (and then clapping for herself while saying "yeah") we flip them picture side up.  She is actually really good at finding the match!

"A match!"

This girl loves to feed herself!  She enjoys eating pudding and especially applesauce with her spoon!

McKenna would eat applesauce at every meal if we let her!  We fill her bowl up VERY full and she will finish it and ask for more!  Her love for eating a lot of applesauce all by herself comes in handy when I'm trying to get supper ready!

McKenna recently has learned to help us feed Lexi.  We put the food into the cup for her and then she pours it in Lexi's food dish.   McKenna gets pretty proud of herself!

McKenna still loves singing her ABCs.  She almost has the entire song down!  Every time I get out the video camera she stops singing, runs over wanting to watch the video.  I am so frustrated because I want to get it on video!

Special highlights from this month:
First Snowman

First UNI Women's Basketball Game of the season

First Haircut

And the most exciting thing this month was the birth of Lily Ann, making Kenna a big cousin!

Thanks for another fun month Kenna.  We love you!
