Lexi has been awesome with McKenna. We weren't really that worried about her meeting her new sister. I was just worried she might start chewing again. (Knock on wood- she hasn't acted out yet!) The first few days home Lexi would come into the room wherever McKenna was when she was crying. Now Lexi leaves the room when McKenna is crying! :) Lexi has also decided that in order to get a good night sleep she should sleep somewhere other than our bed! She sometimes will start in our bed and then head to the couch upstairs or the couch downstairs after the first feeding. Matt and I have tried many times to get her out of our bed, but it hasn't worked. I didn't know having a kid would solve the problem!
Nahla has also been really good with McKenna. I have to say I was a bit more worried with her- mainly because she's not my dog and I wasn't sure how she would react. The funny thing is, she actually isn't that interested in her. One night Danielle and I ran to the store quick and left the Matts in charge of McKenna. They were trying to watch a movie but McKenna had other plans. She decided she would cry almost the entire time mommy was gone. (She love me and hates when I'm gone!!! haha) Nahla was sitting on the couch when she began crying. She looked at Matt like- please, quiet that kid down! She then headed over to the chair to sleep. McKenna continued to cry. Nahla lifted her head again and looked at Matt with that same expression- please, quiet that kid down! This time she hopped off the chair and headed upstairs. McKenna continued to cry. Matt felt bad since Matt was still trying to watch the movie so he headed upstairs to try to settle McKenna down. He was in Ella's room when he heard Nahla jump off Matt and Danielle's bed. Nahla walked by Ella's room with that same look on her face but this time she was like- PLEASE, shut that kid up!!! Nahla headed back downstairs for some peace and quiet!!!!
As you can see from the pictures below we LOVE our dogs- even when they are naughty (right Danielle?!!)! They truly are a man's best friend!!! Lexi new thing is licking McKenna's face after she eats- cleaning up the "leftover" milk. What a good big sis she is! :)

I went downstairs the other day to change the laundry and this is what I found- Matt sleeping on the couch (you can't see him b/c he sleeps with the blanket over his head) along with Lexi sleeping on him. I ran upstairs to get the camera quick and of course Lexi woke up by the time I came back. I wanted to get a picture of this b/c this is the blanket that Lexi chewed up while we were gone at a wedding this summer. There was one week this summer that Lexi was really bad. Not only did she chew our blanket from our bed, but she chewed holes in our comforter and sheets. We could have killed her! I decided to wait until after the baby was born before we bought new, just in case she started acting out again. As you can see in the picture, Lexi has her head coming out of one of the holes she chewed... wondering how she would have gotten herself out if I wouldn't have helped her!
