At FOUR MONTHS you weigh 14 lbs. 8 oz. (at the doctor’s office scale) (56%)/ 14 lbs. 12 oz. (at our home scale) and 25 1/4 inches (81%) long. You are still in size 2 diapers. We did buy Huggies for bedtime and that has seemed to help leaking through everything! This month has been very cold for May. We’ve had to SQUEEZE you into your 3 month long sleeve and pant outfits, as your summer clothes consist of dresses, tank tops and shorts! You’ve worn a few 6 month outfits, mainly Ralph Lauren, as they run small.
At FOUR MONTHS you’re back sleeping in mommy and daddy’s room!! Long story short: Our BRAND new video monitor would for no reason shut off saying “Out of Range” at anytime. We found this out on the second day we used it. We thought we had it fixed but we found out on the second night you were in your room that it wasn’t! I woke up in a panic because I hadn’t heard you. I flipped the monitor on to find the “Out of Range" notification. And that was the end of it. I moved your crib mattress back into our room alongside our bed. You are currently still in our room, but back in a Pack ‘N Play as we wait for your new monitor to come in the mail. (Call me a freak- it’s okay! :)) We’ve had to start using the Swaddle Me at bedtime because you work your hands out of the swaddle and then pull the blanket up over your face. At fourteen weeks you started having an 9 and 10 hour nights, although you are not consistent with these long nights! You are falling to sleep earlier in the evening (as early as 7:30-8), so you are not always getting one more feeding in before mom goes to bed. You are still only getting up once in the night to be fed. On the nights you go down early, you wake up as early as 3:00, but then go down until 7:00 or later. This is perfect because then I can feed you before going to work, rather than having to pump and have one more bottle at daycare. I’m pretty sure you are the best cat napper in town! You have lots of little naps throughout the day with one or two long naps (2-3 hours). If you don’t fall asleep while nursing, you stay awake for about an hour to an hour and a half and then will take a nap!
At FOUR MONTHS you eat 5 times a day and once at night. Two of your daytime feedings are from a bottle since you started daycare! Every once and awhile you’ll have a bottle at night if mommy is gone. We moved you up to the Step 2 nipple and this has helped a ton. You finally started taking more than 4 oz. for us! As soon as we moved up nipple speeds you started taking 5 oz. and about a week later you started taking 6!
At FOUR MONTHS you have officially started rolling over! You work so hard to get your arm out from under you. After rolling over you have the cutest look of surprise on your face!! You have also found your toes! Sucking on your fingers/wrist and drooling are still something you do constantly. Sucking on your tongue and lips is also something that you like to do often!
A FOUR MONTHS your hair is really starting to grow! We are wondering if it is going to start standing up like your sister’s did! You don’t wear a bow as often as we had your sister, but when you do we have to make sure to take it off when in the car because we’ve found you more than once with it pulled over your eyes!!
At FOUR MONTHS you have become very vocal. Daddy and Auntie say you have a raptor call. :) It’s a raspy, low, LOUD sound! You are the loudest when on your tummy time mat or the playmat. It’s like you are talking to your toys! Probably the best milestone this month was that you started to giggle! There is something about a baby’s laugh. It may be one of the sweetest sounds ever! Mommy likes to tickle you under your chin with her thumbs while holding you. You are especially giggly after you eat!
At FOUR MONTHS you are awake a lot more so we are having to entertain you more! Your bouncy seat probably remains your favorite. We’ve started dangling more toys from it for you to grab and eat! You’ve gotten good at sitting in the Bumbo. You like to watch the Heat play with daddy as well as bat at the hanging toys from your playmat while sitting in it. You also enjoy laying on the playmat looking up at the toys, hitting the toys, and kicking the ball. Now that you can roll over you can get off it and get “tangled” up in the toys! I finally got the tub of baby toys out from downstairs. You are able to hold some toys and you really like when your sister plays with them with you.

Your first day of daycare was Monday, May 6th. Daddy dropped you off so mommy didn’t have to worry about it on her first day back! You and your sister both slept in so daddy took you in your jammies! Are you going to be a jammie girl at Shannon’s like your sister likes to be?!
Shannon said you were perfect your first day! This made us so happy!! The next few days weren’t so great… You became an extremely fussy baby. Mommy didn’t have any advice for Shannon because you were doing things we hadn’t had to deal with ourselves yet! This made it even harder going back to work knowing you were missing your mom!

You have started “moving”! When I left you were on the playmat under the toys and when I came back this is how I found you!

5-21 You are getting SO close to rolling over but your one arm always gets stuck! You love to lay on your side with your head back like this while playing on the floor and while sleeping! (5-29 You officially started rolling over!)

Cousins Jayna and Daniel came from Omaha to visit Memorial Day weekend! They couldn’t wait any longer to meet the babies!
Your last day at Shannon’s was May 31st. Just when you got used to going it was time for summer!
