Our little Kenners is 15 months! She had her 15 month check up Martin Luther King day since mommy had the day off. She weighed in at 24 lbs. 13 oz (75%) and was 31 3/4 inches (90%) long. Dr. Wahidi thinks she looks great!
McKenna was her squirmy self during pictures once again! She started cooperating when I started hysterically laughing. She thought mommy was pretty funny! (Oh what we do!)
She is learning more and more new words each day. Our favorites this month are: "uppie" for "up", "opeyopey" for "open"- she will repeat this one million times until you open something for her, and "Idunnoww" for "I don't know". She says it in the sweetest voice while holding her hands out to the side face up!
McKenna loves looking at pictures. It doesn't matter if they are in an album, framed, or on the computer, EVERY picture has a picture of Ella, well at least that is what McKenna thinks! She clearly knows what Ella looks like, but for some reason right now she is obsessed with saying Ella is in each picture!
We are working on keeping paci and blankey in McKenna's bed during the day. We have her put them in her bed, but she is quick to go to her room to "sneak" them out! At daycare she only has them when she naps. I guess mommy is a bit "softer" than maybe she should be!!
I am truly amazed with how Kenna likes to read. I know I write about this a lot, but I really can't believe how much she likes to look at books. She can seriously be entertained for 30 minutes just looking at books!
McKenna loves playing in our basement- probably because her big outside toys are being stored down there! She is into putting all of her toys in her wagon and then crawling in and out, in and out, and in and out! She really likes going for "weee" rides in her wagon. It consists of pulling her from one end of the basement to the other- which isn't very far!
McKenna now knows how to open the drawer in our kitchen filled with her things- cups, spoons, bowls, snacks, etc. She loves to open the drawer, get a bowl, get a snack, and then bring it to me to "opey". Her favorite snack to eat is Nutter Butter cookies (the little round circle ones). Lately she's been getting out her snacks as soon as she gets up in the morning. She doesn't quite understand when snack time is yet!
McKenna is really into puzzles. We started out with having her point to where each piece went. Then she started putting the pieces in the correct spot but needed a little help to get them all the way in. Now she does it all by herself! I am amazed at how fast she learned how to do it on her own. I love to hear her little grunt when she gets frustrated! Sometimes she will bring us a piece because she needs help but we tell her to try again, and she always gets it!
Ring Around the Rosie has become a favorite this month. Shannon and her kids taught McKenna at daycare. She loves to say "Rosie, Rosie" and "all fall down". Below Ella and McKenna are teaching Alaina how to do it.
McKenna absolutely LOVES listening to music in the car, in her room, and on our computer. ABCs and EiEiO are her favorites! While putting on her coat to leave Shannon's she is already requesting what song she wants to listen to!
McKenna's most recent favorite song is "Baby" by Justin Bieber. I love the video below of her singing and dancing!
Maybe McKenna is going to be the next American Idol! :)
