At SEVEN MONTHS you weigh 17 lbs. and 8 oz. On August 16th, we weighed you and Jett to see the weight difference since you look the same size! You were 16 lbs. 11.5 oz. and he was 16 lbs. 9 oz. He’s going to be catching you VERY soon!! We are finishing up size 2 Target diapers. You are still in size 3 Huggies at night. Most of your clothes are 6 months with sleepers being 9 months.
At SEVEN MONTHS you’re becoming a better sleeper! We took you back to Dr. Blake to get an adjustment to try to help out with sleeping. You are back to putting yourself to sleep. We can put you in your crib when you’re tired and you’ll go down with no problems. Bedtime continues to be around 9:00 and you normally wake up around 5:00. You have to be held, but daddy gets you to go back down. Then you are back up to eat between 6-7. You will normally go back down after this feeding! (Usually in mommy and daddy’s bed.) Anytime we need to be somewhere in the morning you of course will choose to go back down for a long period of time. You unfortunately don’t transfer well and end up waking up when I try to put you in your carseat! At least you are a happy girl! Your naps range from 1-3 hours. You’ll normally have a shorter morning nap, a long afternoon nap, and then another nap in the early evening. Your nap times are still all over the board. It makes it hard trying to plan when we aren’t sure what your sleeping schedule is going to look like each day!
At SEVEN MONTHS you eat 5-6 times a day, depending on how early you wake up in the morning. You take two 6-6.5 oz. bottles at Shannon’s while mommy is at work. One night when mommy was gone daddy gave you 7.5 oz. and you finished it in no time! You’ve been in Stage 3 nipples so you take your bottle really fast now! You have been introduced to the world of food this month! So far you’ve had bananas, apple sauce, green beans (from Grandpa’s garden), avocado, sweet potato, and peas. We’ve also started giving you Puffs (in half) and Rice Cakes (broken up). We’ve had to put them in your mouth since you aren’t able to pick them up on your own yet. You haven’t shown to be all that excited about eating. Shannon gives you cereal in the morning and then we give you food at night. It took about all month for you to get better at opening your mouth and getting ready for the spoon. You would be so tight lipped that it would be hard to get anything in, which made for a messy feeding! You do really like fresh fruit (peach and cantaloupe) in the food feeder. This will keep you occupied for a long time! We’ve tried apple juice in the sippy cup, but all you want to do is chew on it!
At SEVEN MONTHS you’ve become quite the character! You will squint your eyes shut and then smile because you think you’re being so funny! You decided to poop while daddy was changing your diaper. He had to call mommy to see what he should use to clean the carpet! You continue to be such a happy baby. We are so thankful for your sweet personality and smile!
A SEVEN MONTHS you’ve had two rounds of yucky diaper rash. It’s been super hot- in the 90’s with humidity in the 100’s (schools got out early for a week straight). Maybe it’s the heat that’s making them worse? Maybe you are finally getting a tooth?
At SEVEN MONTHS it’s getting harder and harder to contain you in one area! You can now sit for long periods of time. We can put a pile of toys around you and you’ll play forever! Sometimes you will fall into the crawling position. It’s not going to be long before you start crawling! You still enjoy the exersaucer. We will put you in it after you eat and you’ll play for 30 minutes! You’ve started sitting in your high chair while we eat supper. It’s nice being able to eat without having to keep getting up to check to see where you have rolled off to! You love to go on walks. We’ve had some really nice weather lately and have loved taking walks after school in the beautiful weather!
At SEVEN MONTHS you’ve been back at daycare for a little over three weeks. You’ve had a hard time transitioning. The first six days were VERY challenging for Shannon. You didn’t like when she put you down and cried almost immediately when she left the room. It’s been pretty frustrating, as you are a very happy baby at home so we’re having a hard time giving Shannon any advice. This has also made it harder on mommy going back to work. The last couple weeks have been much better and we hope it just continues to get better each day!
Each month I ask McKenna to help me try to get you to smile. I’d say she gets a C in this area! :) Sometimes she is more than willing to help, and other times it’s like pulling her teeth to help! She has a hard time with the concept that she needs to be behind me so that you will look at the camera! The photo shoot normally ends because I can’t handle her hanging on my back and neck for any longer!
This month McKenna wanted to take a couple pictures of you. Since she had actually done a good job helping I allowed her to. I just had to post these two shots she got! I just love our Little Boo’s facial features!
And then one last one with my two loves!
More from this month:
Now that you can sit up better on your own we’ve moved you to this in the tub. You LOVE to sit and splash in the water! Lately you’ve started taking baths with your sister!
August 14th- First day of school for mommy and first day back at Shannon’s for daycare!
You and Jett were baptized Sunday, August 18th at Orchard Hill Church. More to come on this special day!
Food, food, and more food! We’ve added more than just cereal to your diet!
Puffs…
Bananas…
Green Beans…
Avocado…
Fresh peach in the food feeder…
Rice Cakes…
Peas…
Big sister has felt a little left out and is always asking if she can have a puff (or two or three) or if she can finish the food you haven’t eaten! She even asks to drink from the little sippy cups! Every now and then we’ll let her join you in the fun. Fresh cantaloupe in the food feeder and a bib to top it off!
Not only does big sister want to eat what you eat, but she wants to feed you too! She found out pretty quickly that it’s not easy to feed a 7 month old applesauce. Instead, it’s much easier to feed yourself the applesauce that is supposed to be for your sister!!
Sweet potato…
Takedown- Kamryn wins!! You’re pretty good at attacking faces with your little hands! You think it’s so funny to grab eyes as well as put your fingers up other’s noses!
You’ve become quite the jumping machine!! You can go to town in the Jumperoo!
You don’t get “invited” to read bedtime books all that often because you just try to grab at the books and/or your sister which makes her upset!
You are at such a fun age Kamryn! We absolutely love watching you become such a big girl! On to month 8!
